The Communities I’m In

I am in many different types of groups and communities. My favorite community that I am in is the Mosque. At the Mosque I pray, help out, and take religious classes. My favorite thing to do at the Mosque is to pray. When I pray I take my time to pray at least five times a day, solely for the purpose of loving Allah, or god. My second favorite thing to do at the Mosque is play basketball. Although playing basketball isn’t the reason I go to the Mosque, I still love playing with my friends and family. At the Mosque we really do a whole lot of community service. We donate foods to charities, and help the elders at the Mosque, but we don’t go planting, or pull peoples weeds.

At Islamic school we learn how to read, speak, and write Arabic, we learn and memorize the Quran, and we learn about our different prophets.  We have Islamic school every Saturday, from 9:00 a.m.  to 2 p.m. Sometimes when we are at Islamic school we go to different place to help people like at a senior center, but we don’t often go anywhere other than the Mosque. Islamic school is amazing and I have a lot of opportunities to help others.

My second favorite community that I’m in is a basketball group that I’m in. Although I am on the school’s basketball team, I am also in a basketball group in my community.  We go by nearby basketball courts and play 4 vs. 4, unless there are other people, which then we play a big game of basketball. We play often on days we are off, such as breaks, Friday nights, and Sundays. Hopefully our group gets bigger, so we can start organizing teams.

Being in a community is important and serious, but can be fun. Being in a community helps you meet new people. Being in a community helps everyone reach their goals. When I grow up I want to be in a bunch of different communities, including being in the NFL. If I’m a player, or even a coach, I will8140695119_bf5eb18e1e_z be happy.

My All Time Favorite NBA and NFL Players

In NFL history I have a lot of favorite players. If I had to choose a top ten it would go like this. My tenth favorite NFL player ever would be Victor Cruz. Victor Cruz used to be my favorite wide receiver, but he has dropped down a little bit, I like him because he is really good, and knows how to “Dance”. My ninth would be AJ Green. He is my second favorite wide receiver, because he has the speed, the agility, and again the dance moves. My eighth would be Randall Cobb. He is actually my third favorite wide receiver, but because he does play running back he is rated a little better then AJ Green. My seventh would be Brett Favre. He’s a Packer legend, but he also played for the Jets, so that why he is not in the top five. Sixth would have to be Deion Sanders. He is a great, in football and baseball, but he played on the Cowboys so he can’t be in my top five.

My fifth favorite player would have to be Charles Woodson. Charles 6629018829_7da0dafdce_zWoodson was a big part in the Packers 2011 Super Bowl. He is a great player, and my favorite safety. My fourth would be Fuzzy Thurston. Fuzzy went to Valparaiso, a college I’ve visited many times before, and he was a really great player. My third favorite would be Bart Star. What is there to say, he won the first two Super Bowls, and he was a Packers coach, what’s not to like? My second would be Reggie White. Reggie White was a beast, destroying offensive lines, and sacking the quarterback millions of times. He was a great Packer player. Before I show my number one, I would like to give out some Honorable mentions: Amari Cooper is my 6th favorite wide receiver, Jordy Nelson is my favorite wide receiver, but I didn’t want to put him on this list. My number one favorite NFL player ever would have to be Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers can throw deeper than most quarterbacks ever. He has had a bad season so far this year, but everyone knows he is the best quarterback right now.

In the NBA, I’ve had a lot of players I liked. My tenth favorite would be Michael Jordan. I don’t like Jordan as much as other people, but I like him a decent amount, so that’s why he made the list. My ninth would be Hassan Whiteside. Hassan is amazing, from getting minimum NBA wage to maximum in one year, which proves he has skill. My eighth would be Blake Griffin. Blake is an outstanding dunker, but can’t shoot anywhere else. Even with that being said he is one of my favorite players. My 7th would be Russell Westbrook. He is outstanding, without8403258435_ac7167eba7_z Kevin Durant, the Thunder are 7 and 5, that tells you something. My 6th is Stephen Curry.  He can shoot. He just broke the NBA three point record, he beat it by one more three, he had 13 in a game, and the record was 12.you, and take care of your ankles because he’ll break them too. Rajon has gotten worse over the years, but when he was with the Celtics he was great, averaging around 17 points and 10.5 assists he was great on the Celtics.  Number 4 is Tim Duncan. He was a great center, and he could shoot. He was a great, and will be in the Hall of Fame. Number 3 would be Kobe Bryant. He used to hold the 3 point record, and he could dunk. I wish he wouldn’t have retired, but he did, so he can’t be number 2. Number 2 would be James Harden. He can shoot, he can cook, and he knows how to win. His only problem is his defense. Before number one let’s see some honorable mentions: Dwayne Wade, Kyrie Irving, and Buddy Hield. My number one favorite player is Chris Paul. Just like Rajon Rondo he can pass and break ankles. Just like Curry he can shoot threes. Lastly he plays on my favorite team the Clippers.

American Sports: My Likes And Dislikes

In the United States there are many different sports teams, and many different sports. A lot of people have likes and dislikes on certain teams, while others really don’t care about sports. I’m one of those many people that like and dislike a bunch of teams, so that’s what I’ll be talking about.

My favorite NBA teams are the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers. I have been a long time Celtics fan because of my grandfathers’ liking of them. I’ve also been a long time Clippers fan because of the Chris Paul-Blake Griffin duo, and because I dislike the Lakers running Los Angeles. If you every see me watching basketball games I’ll usually be rooting for either of the teams. When they are going against each other, however, I’ll usually be rooting for the Celtics. The reason is this because I know the Clippers will make the NBA playoffs in one of the top seeds, but I want the Celtics to be t9163093007_faab93d530_zhe one of the top seeds in their conference too. My least favorite NBA teams are the Cavaliers and Warriors. This is because most of their fans are bandwagons.

In the NFL I only have one team that I love, the Green Bay Packers. The Packers are the best team in the league, in my opinion, and of course they were my grandfathers’ favorite. The Packers were my favorite team since the beginning, and they always will be. Let’s just hope Aaron Rodgers will win another Super Bowl. If I had to pick another team, it would be the Saints. Although I dislike their name, it’s amazing watching Drew Brees throwing deep down the field to Brandon Cooks, in their alternate uniforms. My least favorite teams are the Bears and Cowboys. The Bears are the Packers rival, and the Cowboys are the only team that is considered America’s team, even though it should be the Packers.

In the MLB, I like the Yankees and White Sox. The White Sox are my favorite tea7892008146_a7e69be219_zm because I’ve always been a big fan especially when they had Paul Konerko.  I’m also a Yankees fan because of my grandfathers’ stories of games he went to. Although I’m not a big Major League Baseball fan, I’ve still been to over 7 White Sox games, 2 Yankee games, and even 4 Cubs games. Although these are my favorite two, I’m fine with all the other  Major League teams. The only bad thing, in my opinion, is that baseball is probably one of the slowest scoring Major League games I’ve ever watched.
